U.S. Consumers Give Retailers Poor Grades

American consumers are tough to please, according to a monthly Pulse survey report by WSL Strategic Retail, New York. Retailers consistently receive a grade “D,” or 66%, for pleasing shoppers. The results are better than insurance companies but worse than banks and churches. Shoppers cited dirty, cluttered stores and rudeness as negative influences. Also, 50-70% are annoyed by retail practices, such as fees on gift cards and complicated sale offers. Low inventory and difficult navigation through skin care, cosmetics and allergy and cold medications also bug shoppers. More info: www.wslstrategicretail.com.
